Hi, I’m Jake
I am a licensed, insured MHFA Adult instructor based in East London, but more than happy to travel.
I have a background in hospitality, catering and events, having run restaurants in London and worked with the Hay Festival.
In 2012 I was a founder of a new secondary school in Whitechapel, East London following several years of campaigning, research and unwavering determination. For 5 years I ran an intervention project where disadvantaged young people fed vulnerable, elderly residents. Since 2015 I have volunteered for The Forward Trust (previously known as RAPt).
I am married with a 21-year-old son.
Alongside mental health, I have interests in nutrition, mindfulness, art and literature. I also make a mean sourdough.
I have successfully delivered the MHFA course to a wide-ranging group of clients including the MOD, Serco, BBC, NHS, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, Arcadia University and community healthcare professionals. I have an ongoing relationship with a large City consultancy, following two successful sessions with their staff. This year I have delivered 20 courses for a major UK manufacturer. I have given keynote lectures and talks on Mental Health to organisations such as the Institute of Quarrying and City businesses, and given talks on mindfulness practice to children and adults.
I offer both closed and open accredited courses, can connect immediately and effectively with professionals at any level, and have delivered the MHFA course both singly and with co-presenters. I understand that for many organisations and businesses the issues around mental health are new and complex, and I make it my mission both to prepare managers with clarity and to deliver coherently to staff.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me – whether you are interested in booking a course, or simply want to learn more about the world of mental health.
